Corofin Winery, Churton Vineyard Clod Block 2015

Flag of New Zealand

Corofin Winery is a boutique producer based in Marlborough, New Zealand, with a focus on single-vineyard, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founded by Mike and Anna Paterson, Corofin is dedicated to expressing the unique characteristics of individual vineyard sites through minimal intervention winemaking. The winery sources fruit from small, sustainably farmed vineyards, working closely with growers who prioritise organic and biodynamic practices. This single-block Pinot Noir comes from the Clod Block within Churton Vineyard, an organically farmed site in the Southern Valleys of Marlborough. The grapes were harvested and aged in oak for 13 months prior to release. The wine is a pure, elegant expression of site and vintage, with lifted aromas of wild red berries, black cherry, and dried herbs, underpinned by subtle earthy and savoury tones. On the palate, it is silky yet structured, offering fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and layers of flavour that evolve with time in the glass. The balance between red fruit, spice, and minerality creates a wine of precision and depth, with a lingering, refined finish.
